IGNITE will use whatever methodologies or tools that prove most impactful in attempting to reach people who are far from God. Rather than run from culture, we choose to harness it to connect with people and show them God's timeless truths. Although our approach to method is thoroughly wide open, we maintain a conservative theological position in keeping with a classic Christianity. We know there’s a lot of spooky stuff out there, so we thought we could let you in on some basic beliefs.

The Bible - God wrote a book

• The Bible is for all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives. Trinity - God: Three in One

• God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority. The Father - God is great, God is good

• God is great: He is all-powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. The Son - God became man

• Jesus Christ is completely human, but at the same time completely God. He is the only way for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to earth to reign as king. The Holy Spirit - God is always personally present

• His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God's righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. Eternity - Somewhere forever

• Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15)

People - God's image bearers

• People are the supreme objects of God’s creation, created by God to reflect God’s glory, to be like God in His character, and to have intimate fellowship with God. Although people have this tremendous potential for good and for life, we became separated in our relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people cannot attain a right relationship with God through our own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, is worthy of respect and Christian love, and is deserving of new opportunities and restoration. Salvation - God's only way

• The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. The Church - God's design for an impactful life

• The church is a body of Christ-following believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ. Charity on Differing Christian Convictions – God’s design for community

• People can be crazy about Jesus and still have a diversity of opinion, and we affirm that. It is our common Lord that unites His followers, not a common political party, educational philosophy, denomination, or exclusive creed. In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty. Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls… So then each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. In all of our beliefs, we show charity. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
